If you bring your own canoe, kayak, or boat it can be safely launched, beached and tied up next to the cottage, but great fishing can be had right off the beach and the rocks in front of the cottage without the need for a boat. A public boat launch is just up the road on the lake. For sunning and swimming, the beach faces south into the sun and the cove is relatively shallow, so it tends to warm up quicker than the deeper main body of the lake out front. Great Moose Lake has one of the largest loon populations in the state. They will greet you in the morning and serenade you to sleep at night. If you're lucky, you'll see fuzzy brown loon chicks riding on their parents' backs. Bald Eagles, owls, King Fishers, and Ospreys also nest along the lake and are frequently spotted diving for fish. This four bedroom, three story private lakeside home is tucked away in the woods with a 1000 square feet deck over a large lawn leading to the lake edge and the 30 ft. dock. The tastefully decorated interior sleeps 8 adults, in two queens, 1 full and two single beds, as well as additional children in youth beds or porta cribs. The modern kitchen has a double oven convection system as well as an ice maker and filtered water delivery on the refrigerator door. There is a propane fireplace in the living room and a pool table in the lower floor recreation room. A Weber grill is located on the lower deck overlooking the back lawn and the lake. The large private backyard has regulation horseshoe pits, a picnic table that seats ten, a large stone fireplace with cooking grill, and room for a badminton court (equipment provided). One side of the property is bordered by deep woods, and a home is barely visible in the woods on the other side. From the deck there are no homes visible. A small kayak, a very large Old Town canoe and various blowup toys are available for water recreation. Bald eagles frequently fly by and roost in the tree by the water where a hammock hangs, and aside from occasional airplanes, this Big Indian property is very quiet.

This cozy camp is a great getaway spot. It has the country feel on a small pond with good fishing, yet it is only 5 minutes to restaurants and shopping. ITS trails only 10 minutes from camp. There are 2 bedrooms. One has a queen bed and the other has bunk beds. Also a pullout sofa in the living room. Beautiful waterfront views from master bedroom, and screened in porch. Both bedrooms have dressers and closets. The kitchen has all the amenities you need while on vacation, even a dishwasher. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub, toilet, sink and washer/dryer unit. The house has 2 minisplits to supply cooling on hot days or heat in the evening. There is also a working woodstove in the kitchen. We have wonderful relationships with our local neighbors, so please be respectful. Please note that there is no dock so boats are not allowed. FIRE PIT- You can purchase firewood at the local corner store at your convenience. DIRT ROAD- The cabin is about a mile down a private dirt road. We do pay a yearly maintenance and try to keep it as smooth as possible. It can get a little more rough during melting season as well as it being icy during the winter months. 4 Wheel Drive is best in winter months. Most of my guest have absolutely no issues with the water as they have honored my water usage guideline. SEPTIC SYSTEM - Only human waste and toilet paper is acceptable to flush. RO (Reverse Osmosis) system for drinking water at the kitchen sink. Use RO faucet for drinking & cooking. It holds about 3 gallons of water at a time. Suggested Items to Bring - Toilet paper -Paper towels - Firewood -Beach towels -Fans ( one fan at home) - Fishing Pole and bait - Water shoes -Life jackets (two adult size are available for use) WILDLIFE~ Please respect Maine's wildlife, I hope you get to experience seeing the beautiful bald eagles, deer, fox, and moose! HOME QUIRKS ~ - The front door going to porch only locks securely when dead bolt is used...not handle. - Sometimes guest will unscrew front porch lights since they can be bright and attract bugs. So if they don't turn on by motion sense try screwing them in. - Gas for propane grill is always turned off, so please make sure the tank is turned on, sometimes the ignitor can take a few times to ignite flame. - Bulbs in home seems to blow out often, I just replaced most light fixtures, if you happen to notice a blown bulb...please let me know! ** I highly rely on my guest to inform me about anything not noted that my need to be addressed in the home. Blue Moose Cottage is a quaint cottage in beautiful, Central Maine! Enjoy the views of Sibley pond from the first step through the door. This home features 2 bedrooms and one bath. There is a queen bed in one bedroom and bunk-beds (weight limit for top bunk) in the other. There is also a small futon available on the porch. The large deck is a great place to relax with family/friends and listen to the music of the loons. THE SPACE Outside~ The yard is a great place for kids to play! Bring your corn-hole or other outdoor games as there is plenty of space. There is also firepit to roast marshmallows and make smores! Bring extra firewood or you can sometimes purchase bundles from nearby stores. The is also a gas grill available for your use. WATERFRONT!! Sibley Pond is a private lake, only access is from our private waterfrontage. You're welcome to bring your kayaks or use our canoe. Please bring appropriate life vests. The pond does have some really fun canals to kayak in (my favorite)!! INSIDE ~ The living room is cozy with a propane stove, tv, DVD player with a small movie collection. The kitchen has full size appliances including a gas stove and refrigerator. There is a small 700 watt microwave and coffee maker for your use as well as, dishes/pots/pans/cookie sheets/cooking utensils. ~GUEST ACCESS~ This is a private lake, only access lake from the rental property. WELL~ Well has been recently tested and is safe. I do suggest bringing bottled drinking. Please try to conserve water as much as possible. HOLDING TANK~ This is where the human waste is held. If you notice the toilet flushing slowly PLEASE contact me, this a sign that the tank needs to be emptied. DIRT ROAD~ The cottage is a little over a mile down a private dirt road. We contribute to the year around road maintenance and try to keep it as smooth as possible. It can get a little rough in the spring(mud season) and in the winter. If renting in the winter, a small sedan would have trouble on a snowy day. WILDLIFE~ Keep an eye out for eagles, it’s rare not see them landing in trees on the property. Also, you may see rabbits, fox, and deer! Please be aware that it’s very normal to have field mice and lots of insects around the home ( sometimes inside) We do treat when necessary.

The wrap around deck includes a propane grill, patio table and patio furniture for ultimate relaxation, dining, and reading. The first story includes an updated kitchen complete with butcher block island and modern appliances and cooking equipment, living room (including pull-out queen sofa bed), gas fireplace and a full bath with shower. The kitchen opens up to a spacious wrap around deck that looks out over the lake...our favorite feature of the cottage! Upstairs in the loft area you will find a bedroom with one queen bed, one twin bed and a window air conditioning unit. The second bedroom is located downstairs and includes a queen bed, gas heating stove, and a floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door that provides additional views of the water. The downstairs level also includes a washer and dryer. Our cottage comfortably sleeps up to 7, is non-smoking, and is pet-free. Alongside the cottage is a small swimming beach area (deeded to this property and our very friendly neighbors). Two kayaks and a paddle boat are included for touring around the water and two bicycles for exploring the land. The property also includes a propane grill on the deck. Although our property is in great condition, each year we strive to make updates and renovations that only further enhance the property and amenities. Interested in a day trip? Moosehead Lake is approximately 52 miles from the cottage and Bar Harbor is approximately 70 miles. Want to stay local? Hannaford (grocery store), Bear's One Stop (butcher) gas stations, and local eateries (Cervesas, Irving One Stop, Pizza Hut, Angler's) are all within a few miles. Also, locally and accessible from the cottage, is a trail suited for hiking, biking, walking, running, or ATVing. If you like to fish and boat, there is a public boat landing nearby for launching your boat and our dock will gladly moor your boat/water toys during your stay. The lake is stocked each year with bass making it fun to participate in the many bass tournaments held each summer. I grew up on Lake Sebasticook and it has always been my dream to own property on this lake. We look forward to sharing it with you!
